HIV InSite - Closed

HIV InSite was the original project of the UCSF Center for HIV Information. When it launched in 1997 as one of the earliest HIV/AIDS information portals, the website content centered on the AIDS Knowledge Base, the first online textbook for HIV/AIDS. The site’s scope was quite large, spanning basic science, clinical care, prevention, policy, and global issues. UCSF faculty, primarily from the Positive Health Program but inclusive of many departments, contributed most original content. In the early 2000s, UCSF CHI decided not to accept funding from industry sponsors. During subsequent years, the site’s scope narrowed and it was eventually closed in late 2021.
